About this data

Law enforcement officers in Texas report crashes on the CR-3 form, and TxDOT compiles them in CRIS. Its public data covers crashes from 2014 onward and excludes personal information. Each crash is counted once, however many vehicles were involved. "Suspected serious injury" is the most severe non-fatal injury level an officer can record.
